MCP, Law Firm Automation, and Misuse of Cursor/Windsurf

MCP was understandably popular this week, same with the Cursor/Windsurf debacle. Not only did someone tweet about it and get hacked, someone on our subreddit did the same thing.

  1. Law firm seeks AI Dev

    1. People are starting to look for jobs/devs on the subreddit, maybe we’ll make it into a job board too

    2. This guy basically wants someone to help automate the boring processes involved in a law firm

    3. This is going to be one of the main uses of AI in the coming year

  2. Learn MCP with a Basic App

    1. Great tutorial, great example, I want people to post more things like this

    2. The code is in the post, and it’s clear what the code does, kudos to this guy

  3. Someone misuses Cursor/Windsurf

    1. Idk if you guys saw the post on twitter about something similar, but someone tweeted about how they were vibe coding and then immediately got vibe checked

    2. Everything in this post makes sense, this guy is right about all the drawbacks, no coherent architecture, AI doesn’t care about your dependencies, and it doesn’t care about good coding practices (think about it, it’s trained on the most available data - you think it’s going to be good???)

  1. Open Source CLI for Agent Mapping - basically map out your agent

  2. Planning Agent (pretty sure this has been upvoted a couple times now!)

  3. An MCP thing? - not 100% sure what this is, but it looks like it is a wrapper around MCP
